Rebellion is one of the world’s most successful independent video games studios but there’s more to us than just games as we also produce books, comics, TV, film, board games and more.

We make great games such as the genre-defining Sniper Elite series and Zombie Army, and publish iconic comics including Roy of the Rovers and 2000 AD featuring Judge Dredd.

Founded back in 1992 by brothers Jason and Chris Kingsley, Rebellion has grown a reputation for producing high quality products that thrill and delight gamers, readers, viewers and fans around the world.

Over the decades we’ve worked on multiple amazing projects including the likes of Aliens vs Predator and Star Wars Battlefront but since 2010 we’ve been working, pretty much exclusively, on developing and publishing our own titles and IP.

In 2018 we opened our multi-million pound Rebellion Film and TV studios in Didcot, releasing our first Rebellion-produced feature film, Schools Out Forever, in 2021.

We acquired legendary comic imprint 2000 AD in the year 2000, and Solaris books in 2010. Since then we have grown our multi award-winning Rebellion Publishing arm into an international publisher of bestselling Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror fiction.

Further diversification came in 2020 with the launch of Rebellion Unplugged, our tabletop gaming division. It is hard at work to bring our fantastic IP to a new medium.

With cutting-edge motion capture studio Audiomotion Studios we also have the ability to make the characters and environments in our games and those of many other leading developers come to life.

Rebellion is best known for our games, most notably our flagship Sniper Elite franchise. After 15 years and over 30 million sales across multiple installments and multiple platforms, Sniper Elite is renowned for its authentic stealth and sniping gameplay, complete with the iconic kill cam that defines the series.

Our other titles include the spine-chilling zombie shooter franchise, Zombie Army, and the recently released satirical spy-fi lair-building sim, Evil Genius 2.

Our studios are headquartered on the riverside in Oxford but we have hubs throughout the UK.

Our Liverpool studio is based in Runcorn on the river Mersey. Our Warwick studio is in the bustling gamedev hub of Leamington Spa and a stone’s throw from Warwick Castle, while our most recent addition, Rebellion North is based near Wakefield in the heart of West Yorkshire.

We currently employ over 475 people and we are always growing, across every area of the business.

THE FUTURE

In December 2021 we announced Sniper Elite 5, the latest and most eagerly anticipated outing in the legendary gaming franchise and our studios are also hard at work on several other amazing, unannounced projects.

Rebellion Film and TV is working on a number of projects both internally and with external partners while Rebellion Publishing continue to work with a litany of exceptional authors to bring their incredible works to readers around the world and Rebellion Unplugged has a series of exciting titles for release shortly.

There is so much going on, much of which we can’t talk about. The future is very exciting, so watch this space.
