THE LEGEND OF ZELDA - Mouse Pad

This officially licensed Nintendo mouse mat is dedicated to the world of The Legend of Zelda. Manufactured by Paladone, it has a round shape measuring 20 × 20 cm and combines a polyester fabric surface with a neoprene base. Its compact size makes it ideal for everyday use with a mouse, whilst adding a decorative touch inspired by Hyrule to a desk or gaming area.

The design features a palette of dark green and gold. At the centre is a stylised depiction of the Master Sword, surrounded by concentric circular patterns and decorative inscriptions forming an almost ritualistic composition. The design is complemented by various graphic symbols directly inspired by the aesthetic of The Legend of Zelda.

Its circular shape provides a dedicated surface for mouse movements without taking up as much space as an XL desk mat. The neoprene provides a flexible base, whilst the fabric surface is designed to allow the mouse to glide smoothly. The official packaging specifies a diameter of 20 cm.

This mouse mat can therefore be used in both a work environment and a gaming setup. Its design, centred on the Master Sword, also makes it an easily recognisable decorative accessory for fans of the Zelda series.

Origin and lore of the franchise

The Master Sword, also known as the Sword of Legend, is one of the most important weapons in the entire The Legend of Zelda series. It is closely linked to Link and features at various points in Hyrule’s history as a weapon capable of fighting the forces of evil. Nintendo describes it as a legendary weapon inextricably linked to the hero and his mission to defend Zelda and the kingdom against enemies such as Ganon.

Its origins are explored in particular in *The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword*. This instalment, set at the beginning of the series’ timeline, recounts the events leading up to the creation of the Master Sword and establishes several fundamental elements of the mythology surrounding Link, Zelda and their struggle against the forces of darkness.

In Ocarina of Time, the sword rests in the Temple of Time and plays a decisive role in Link’s transition to adulthood. In Breath of the Wild, meanwhile, it awaits his return at the heart of a sacred forest and can only be removed from its pedestal once the hero possesses sufficient stamina.

By placing the Master Sword at the centre of its design, this Paladone mouse mat takes one of the most enduring symbols of The Legend of Zelda and transforms it into a compact 20 cm desk accessory.
