Origin and world of the character (Lore)
This figure is part of a crossover collection developed to coincide with the big-screen release of the musical film Wicked, which explores the origins of the Witches of Oz. At the heart of this series, the Care Bears dress up as the protagonists of this fantastic tale. Tenderheart Bear (known as Toucalin in the French version), the benevolent leader with a red heart drawn on his belly, takes on the costume of the Poltroned Lion. This emblematic character from Oz mythology seeks to overcome his fears in order to acquire true courage. This alliance captures the tenderness of the 1980s licence at the heart of the wonderful world of Elphaba and Glinda.
