Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Released in 1981, Disney's cult animated feature tells the poignant story of Rox, an orphaned fox cub taken in by the kindly widow Tartine, and Rouky, a Saint-Hubert puppy entrusted to the care of a ruthless hunter, Amos Slade. Oblivious to the laws of nature and the prejudices of adults, the two young animals form a close friendship and swear a childhood oath to remain best friends forever. However, time and adulthood catch up with them when Rouky returns from long training, transformed into a fearsome hunting dog destined to hunt down his lifelong companion's species. This masterpiece explores, with nostalgia and philosophy, the strength of bonds in the face of life's trials.
