The heroic leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, joins the Transformers: Age of the Primes collection in a special Energon-inspired version. This Voyager-class figure stands out thanks to its translucent blue finish, which evokes the life-giving energy used by the Cybertronians to power their systems and weapons.

In robot mode, Energon Optimus Prime stands approximately 17 cm tall. His articulated head, arms and legs allow you to create various combat, command or display poses alongside the other figures in the Age of the Primes collection.

The figure transforms from robot mode to Cybertronian truck mode in 28 steps. The wheels, cab and various mechanical panels fold away and rearrange to form the Autobots’ leader’s iconic vehicle.

Optimus Prime comes with a blaster and an Energon axe.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, a faction of Cybertronians who champion freedom and peaceful coexistence. He opposes Megatron and the Decepticons, who seek to impose their rule over Cybertron and the other worlds they encounter during their war.

Before becoming Optimus Prime, he is often referred to asOrion Pax. Depending on the various Transformers continuities, he may have been an archivist, a labourer or an ordinary citizen of Cybertron before being chosen to bear the Matrix of Leadership and lead the Autobots.

The Matrix of Leadership represents the legacy of the ancient Cybertronian leaders. It contains vast energy and knowledge, but above all symbolises Optimus’s responsibility towards his people. He generally prioritises the protection of the innocent and the pursuit of peace, even when war seems inevitable.

The Age of the Primes collection explores the influence of the Thirteen Primes, regarded in many versions of the mythology as the first Cybertronians. Their powers, artefacts and conflicts shaped the history of Cybertron long before the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

Energon is the Transformers’ primary source of energy. It powers their mechanical bodies, weapons, vehicles and certain forms of transformation. This substance is usually depicted as a blue, pink or purple light, depending on the era and the franchise’s continuity.

The translucent blue finish on this figure depicts Optimus Prime carrying a significant amount of Energon. It gives the character a luminous appearance and highlights the power coursing through his armour.

When combined with Energon Cybertread, Optimus Prime can be fitted with several additional armour components. This combination illustrates the Autobots’ ability to join forces: Cybertread temporarily abandons its robot or tank form to become equipment designed to reinforce its commander.
