Boost the Decepticons’ ranks with Dark Energon Cybertronic, a Deluxe-class transforming figure from the Transformers: Age of the Primes collection. This Cybertronian Weaponizer features a dark and luminous design inspired by Black Energon, a particularly dangerous form of energy associated with Megatron and Unicron in several Transformers stories.

In robot mode, Dark Energon Cybertronic stands approximately 14 cm tall. Its mechanical silhouette, translucent elements and contrasting patterns give it a menacing appearance, befitting its role as a support unit for the Decepticon leader.

Character background and universe (Lore)

The Transformers universe centres primarily on the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, two factions of sentient robots originating from Cybertron. Capable of altering their structure, the Cybertronians can assume alternative forms suited to combat, transport or exploration.

The Age of the Primes collection celebrates the legacy of the Thirteen Primes, regarded in many continuities as the first Cybertronians. Their history, powers and artefacts have shaped much of Cybertron’s civilisation and continue to influence the conflicts between Optimus Prime and Megatron.

Dark Energon Cybertronic is presented as a Weaponizer, that is to say, a Transformer capable of transforming into a vehicle whilst also serving as equipment for another character. He can therefore operate independently in robot or jet form, then split his body to become a suit of armour for Dark Energon Megatron.

Energon is the Cybertronians’ primary source of energy. It powers their systems, fuels their weapons and ensures their survival. Its classic form is generally depicted as blue or pink energy, depending on the various incarnations of the franchise.

Dark Energon, on the other hand, is an unstable substance frequently associated with Unicron, the cosmic embodiment of chaos and destruction. In some stories, it is described as Unicron’s blood and can increase its user’s power, corrupt their body or reanimate destroyed Cybertronians in the form of uncontrollable creatures.

Megatron regularly seeks to exploit this energy despite its dangerous effects. The Dark Energon version of the Decepticon leader features a translucent purple finish and can accommodate the six armour elements formed by Cybertronic.

This figure therefore represents a support unit designed to bolster Megatron: on its own, it forms a transformable robot capable of providing aerial firepower; when combined, it becomes armour powered by Dark Energon intended for the Decepticon leader.
