Origin and character background
Rimuru Tempest (formerly Satoru Mikami, an ordinary human reincarnated in a fantasy world as a slime with unique abilities) is the central protagonist of the global hit That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura), the light novel written by Fuse. Thanks to his extraordinary abilities such as "Predator" and "Grand Sage", he assimilates numerous magical powers and founds the Jura-Tempest Federation, a peaceful nation where monsters and humans coexist. After braving countless perils to protect his people, he undergoes a major evolution to rise to the rank of Demon King. His human appearance, characterised by his long silver-blue hair and golden eyes, stems from his voluntary assimilation of the tragic champion Shizue Izawa, whose memory he keeps alive. Banpresto’s “Espresto” collection aims to bring out the best in this legendary figure through meticulous finishes that highlight the gentle movement of his long scarf and the subtle texture of his iconic costume.
