Origin and character background (Lore)
In the world of Ranma ½, Shampoo is a champion from a tribe of Chinese Amazon warriors based in the village of Joketsuzoku. After being defeated in a duel by Ranma in his female form, Shampoo vows to track her down and give her the kiss of death, in accordance with the laws of her tribe. However, after discovering that her opponent was in fact a boy and being defeated by him once more in his male form, the law of her village now compels her to marry him, triggering a most aggressive courtship. Just like the Saotome family, Shampoo is also afflicted by a curse following her fall into one of the springs of Jusenkyo (the Drowned Cat Spring): she instantly transforms into a cute little pink cat upon contact with cold water – the absolute last straw for Ranma, who suffers from a severe fear of cats. This figurine celebrates one of the series’ most popular, funny and determined characters.
