Origin and character lore
In the history of Gothic cinema and Hollywood’s fantasy myths, the werewolf is Larry Talbot’s monstrous alter ego. Back at his father’s ancestral estate in Wales, this ordinary man with a shattered destiny makes the mistake of trying to defend a young woman from the attack of a rabid wolf. Bitten during the confrontation by the beast (who turns out to be a lycanthropic gypsy), Larry is henceforth subjected to a dreadful ancient curse. Condemned to transform into a bloodthirsty hybrid monster every full moon, he becomes a predator to his own loved ones despite his desperate struggle and the purity of his heart.
