Origin and universe of the character
Ohki (also spelled Wang Qi), nicknamed ‘the Monstrous Bird of Qin’, is one of the most legendary, respected and charismatic characters in the masterful Kingdom, the historical manga written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara. The last surviving member of the first generation of Qin’s Six Great Generals, he is a colossus feared on every battlefield for his Herculean physical strength, his extraordinary strategic acumen and his heavy, sharp sword. Instantly recognisable thanks to his characteristic thick lips, unique beard lines and memorable laugh, he becomes the ultimate spiritual mentor to the young protagonist Shin, to whom he passes on his philosophy of war and his vision of a general under the heavens.
