Origin and background of the character

Makomo is a mysterious and deeply moving character from the dark fantasy epic Demon Slayer, the global masterpiece created by manga artist Koyoharu Gotouge. A former apprentice of the master trainer Sakonji Urokodaki, this young orphan once underwent the same rigorous training as Tanjiro Kamado on Mount Sagiri. Appearing as a benevolent spirit alongside her comrade Sabito, Makomo stands out for her calm demeanour, infinite patience and wise counsel on controlling spiritual breathing. She actively helps Tanjiro perfect his sword technique so that he can cleave through his boulder and survive the Final Selection.
