Origin and background of the character
Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryusai is the founder of the Shinigami Academy and Captain of the 1st Division, holding the supreme position of Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 in the world-famous Shonen manga Bleach, created by Tite Kubo. Despite his appearance as an old man with a long white beard and a body covered in battle scars, he is considered the most powerful Shinigami to have been born in a thousand years. Yamamoto possesses the oldest and most destructive fire-type Zanpakuto in the entire Soul Society, named Ryujin Jakka, whose blazing flames can reduce everything in their path to ashes. Banpresto’s “Solid and Souls” collection aims to capture all the presence and imposing charisma of this legendary character through a meticulous sculpt of his traditional captain’s haori draped over his shoulders.
